Yobe Road Accidents Claim 9 Lives

July 15, (THEWILL) – At least, nine persons have been killed in two separate motor accidents in Yobe State.
The Federal Road Safety Corps Public Enlightenment Officer in the state, Usaini Ibrahim, in a statement on Thursday, said, “The first accident involved a Toyota hummer bus with registration number BAM 286XA.
“The vehicle, belonging to the Borno State Transport Authority was conveying passengers from Jos to Maiduguri.
“Three of the passengers died while others sustained different degrees of injury.
“The second accident, involved a Toyota bus with registration number KJA 012 XA heading to Potiskum. Six persons died on the spot.
“Both accidents happened on Wednesday and the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary of the General Hospital Potiskum.”
The FRSC PRO blamed both accidents on overspeeding and reckless driving.
