Wreckage Of Crashed NAF Jet Found In Sambisa Forest

March 26, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Army on Saturday, announced that its troops of Operation Desert Sanity on clearance patrol in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, have uncovered the wreckage of crashed Airforce jet.

The Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF475) with two crew members, went off the radar on 31 March, 2021 and since then, the whereabouts of both the aircraft and the crew members were unknown.

Air force spokesperson, Edward Gabkwet, had said the jet went missing while on an operation in the north-east.

However, on Saturday, the army in a notice on its verified Facebook page, said its troops uncovered the wreckage of the plane during its clearance operation in the Sambisa Forest, Borno State.

The notice read, “Troops of Operation Desert Sanity on clearance patrol in Sambisa Forest, Borno State, have uncovered the wreckage of crashed Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF475) that went off the radar with two crew members on 31 March 2021. Further exploitation (is) ongoing.”
