April 18, (THEWILL) – The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says a decision has been taken to review the Rivers State Caretaker Committee list.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, disclosed this after a meeting of the NWC and the party’s governors in Abuja on Wednesday.
THEWILL recalls that the list has been a source of contention between Governor Siminalayi Fubura and his predecessor, Nyesom Wike.
Supporters of the Governor had raised concerns about the list published by the NWC. The list allegedly included names of former Wike’s supporters who were previously not members of the party’s executive.
Speaking on Wednesday, Ologunagba said, “The issue of Rivers State Caretaker Committee List was raised at the meeting of PDP Governors and the PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and it was resolved that a political solution should be applied to resolve all the issues related thereto.
“Consequently, the PDP Governors’ Forum directed that the National Working Committee of the PDP revisit the issue of the Rivers State Caretaker Committee List.”
