Fubara assented to the budget on Thursday at the State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Port Harcourt, describing the legislation as a significant departure that could usher in a new phase of development and cooperation between the executive and legislative arms of government.

Briefing newsmen on Wednesday at the Command headquarters in Port Harcourt, Rivers Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, named the dismissed officers as ASP Fabian Kpeanabari, Corporal Alfred Louis and Police Constable Michael Ejokwu, while Inspector Solomon Nwrogu, who allegedly absconded following the incident, has been declared a deserter.

The meeting is the first reported encounter between Wike and Fubara since the governor withdrew from the 2027 Rivers State governorship contest, effectively ending his bid for a second term in office.
