December 28, (THEWILL) – Vice President Kashim Shettima has inaugurated the multi-million Naira redesigned Governor’s Office complex at Government House, Kano, with special prayers for the occupants of the office for God’s guidance.
The complex includes a newly redesigned Council Chamber, Executive Conference Hall and a VIP lounge.
The prayers were conducted by Senator AbdulRahman Kawu Sumaila inside the Governor’s office.
The office complex was constructed by the first Military Administrator of the State, Late Commissioner of Police, Audu Bako, in 1967.
The Vice President was assisted by Governor Abba Yusuf, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas; Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin; Sen. Kawu Sumaila, the Senator representing Kano South; and the State Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, to inaugurate the redesigned complex.
Shettima lauded the political commitment demonstrated by Governor Yusuf to ensure the timely execution of the project.
He said that the remodelling of the Governor’s Office with state-of-the-art equipment would provide a conducive working atmosphere for Governor Yusuf and his staff to operate optimally.
“I Congratulate Governor Yusuf and members of the executive council for a job well done,” the Vice President said.
The Vice President, Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Deputy President of the Senate had earlier attended the funeral prayers of the late former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Ghali Umar Na’Abba, who died on Wednesday.
They later condoled with the Governor, the people of the State and the family of the late former Speaker.
