August 10, (THEWILL) — Social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has explained why he stopped responding to Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, amid the singer’s ongoing dispute with his twin brother, Paul Okoye, and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
In a recent video, VDM dismissed suggestions that Peter approached him simply as a friend seeking advice. He alleged that the singer contacted him because of the reach and influence of his social media platform.
The activist also shared screenshots of their WhatsApp conversation, including what he described as unanswered calls and messages from Peter.
According to VDM, Peter travelled from Lagos to Abuja to meet him and shared details of the family dispute in the hope that he would use his platform to call out Paul and Jude and support his position.
“Peter left Lagos for Abuja because of my position in the media. Peter told me the story so I can call out his brothers for him, so that I will support him”, VDM said.
He said he later examined the information Peter had shared and decided to distance himself from the situation.

“I stopped replying to Peter Okoye when I realised he wanted to use my head”, he said.
VDM explained that he prefers to assess information independently rather than rely on public opinion. He said this influenced his decision not to take sides based solely on Peter’s account of the dispute.
The activist also suggested that Peter approached him because of his reputation for speaking openly on controversial issues.
“Everybody knows VDM associates himself with truth. That’s why Peter wanted to use me”, he said.
He warned celebrities and other public figures against bringing misleading information to him, saying he would not promote claims simply because they were shared with him privately.
VDM also questioned the evidence behind some of Peter’s allegations against his brothers, arguing that serious claims should be supported by sufficient proof.
His comments come as the long-running dispute between Peter, Paul and Jude continues to generate reactions online. VDM had earlier weighed in on the matter, drawing criticism from some Nigerians who accused him of taking sides.
He has since announced his withdrawal from the family dispute, saying he no longer wants to be involved in the Okoye brothers’ affairs.
