Unserviceable Ammunition: Nigerian Army Calls For Calm As Demolition Commences In Akwa Ibom

September 08, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian Army 2 Brigade, Akwa Ibom State, has called on the general public to keep calm and go about their normal businesses as the demolition of unserviceable ammunition and explosives will take place under strict control.

The call by the Nigerian Army was contained in a release endorsed by Lieutenant Adebowale AdeJimi, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, made available to journalists in Uyo.

The demolition is scheduled to be held at 6 Battalion Range Area, Abak LGA, between Tuesday, September 10 to Thursday, September 19, 2024, the release urged the people of Abak LGA and environs, to stay off the designated exercise area.

They were also requested not to panic at the sound of explosives and to note that adequate measures have been placed for safety and security at the range area and environs.

The Nigerian Army 2 Brigade, however, requested that all who come in contact with the message should disseminate this notice to the general public for their awareness and safety.
