September 08, (THEWILL) – The Emir of Potiskum, Alhaji Umar Bubaram Ibn Wuriwa Bauya, has sought the assistance of the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, for the completion of the Mosque at his palace.
Bauya made the request when he paid a solidarity visit to Sanusi at his Gidan Rumfa Palace, Kano, on Sunday.
“We are seeking your usual support for the completion of a Juma’at Mosque at my palace which we started about three years ago but the project has been stalled by some financial difficulties. We hope that you will help us, as usual, to complete it”, he said.
Bauya, who is the first Northern Emir to pay Sanusi a solidarity visit, said they were at Gidan Rumfa Palace to extend their support to Sanusi, who doubles as the Nigerian Spiritual Leader of the Tijjaniyya Islamic sect.
He reminded Sanusi that history is repeating itself with his second coming as the Emir of Kano.
“This kind of historic development happened to me some 26 years ago and with the help of Allah I was returned as Emir and I am living peacefully with my people.
“The return of Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II is a significant milestone that justified that he is a good leader, who thinks and acts for his people. As such, he should count on my support and that of my people”, the emir said.
Responding, Sanusi thanked his Potiskum counterpart for being the first Emir to visit his palace and show his solidarity.
He said this is a vindication of the fact that there is unity and togetherness among them which would impact positively on their respective lives and the security of their people.
