Tinubu To Preside Over Maiden FEC Meeting At Villa

August 28,(THEWILL) – President Bola Tinubu, will on Monday, August 28, preside over the first meeting of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), since his inauguration as President on May 29.

THEWILL reports that the FEC meeting will be held at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in Abuja by 12 noon.

The inaugural FEC meeting, which will be attended by Vice President, Kashim Shettima and all 45 ministers, had initially been scheduled for last Wednesday, but was shifted because the Vice President was attending the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa

According to Daily Independent, the President had informed his ministers that the first FEC would now be held on Monday, August 28.

The ministers have also received a memo to prepare for Monday’s FEC meeting from the office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), a source, who asked to remain anonymous because he was not authorised to speak on the issue, told the media.

“The president will be holding his first FEC on Monday. The meeting was initially slated for Wednesday, but it was shifted to Monday, so as to give the ministers time to settle into their various offices and get their briefs.

“The SGF has also issued a memo to 45 of them, informing them about the meeting”, the source said.
