Shettima gave the warning during a meeting with UN Deputy Secretary-General, Amina Mohammed, on the sidelines of the UNGA81, where he renewed Nigeria’s demand for urgent reform of the United Nations and stronger African representation in global decision-making.
Tinubu made the declaration in his address to the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday, which was delivered on his behalf by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who is leading Nigeria’s delegation to the global gathering.
He said the United States was weighing whether to pursue an agreement that would allow Iran to rebuild and develop economically or intensify pressure on Tehran, warning that the alternative could mean driving the country “into hell”.
