President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term is heading into the 2027 presidential election under the weight of four issues that the opposition is increasingly seeking to turn into a referendum on his administration.

Security analyst and scholar, Dr. Sani Abubakar Muhammad, has called for stronger Nigeria-United States security cooperation, including consideration of a jointly managed military base in the North-East, arguing that “Nigeria needs help, not pride” as the country battles an increasingly complex security crisis.

The Federal Government has told Nigerians living in Angola that President Bola Tinubu is determined to fix the country’s security and economic challenges, assuring the Diaspora community that insecurity would not derail the administration’s efforts to reposition Nigeria.

The group urged MURIC and other stakeholders to avoid reducing Nigeria’s complex national security architecture to the office of one individual, stressing that tackling terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of violent crime requires coordinated efforts by multiple institutions.

Ezekwesili made the allegation during an interview with News Central Television, where she questioned the effectiveness of the government’s response to insecurity and demanded greater accountability over the enormous resources reportedly committed to combating terrorism.
