Makinde unveiled a four-point agenda covering education, security, the economy and Nigeria’s socio-political structure at a town hall meeting of the MakindeDaura 2027 presidential campaign in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday.

At the centre of the escalating dispute is Makinde's claim that each state was expecting ₦250 billion from NLNG dividends but that the Federal Government had decided to withhold the money until after the 2027 general election — an allegation the Presidency says “defies basic logic and economic reality.”
