August 12, (THEWILL) — Arsenal have been backed to retain the Premier League title in Sky Sports’ latest supercomputer prediction for the 2026/27 season, with the Gunners projected to finish comfortably ahead of Manchester City.
The prediction, published by Sky Sports Premier League, places Arsenal top of the projected 20-team table with 85.24 points from 38 matches. Manchester City are expected to finish second on 81.65 points, while Liverpool are projected to take third with 76.84 points.
The forecast also puts Manchester United back in the Champions League places, with Ruben Amorim’s side projected to finish fourth on 75.38 points. Chelsea complete the top five on 72.70 points, while Tottenham Hotspur are predicted to finish sixth with 64.76 points.
Aston Villa are projected to secure seventh place on 58.44 points, followed by Bournemouth in eighth with 51.56 points. Brighton and Brentford round out the top 10, with projected totals of 49.99 and 49.55 points respectively.
Everton are forecast to finish 11th on 48.50 points, narrowly ahead of Fulham, who are projected to collect 45.09 points. Newcastle United are placed 13th on 44.66 points, while Leeds United are forecast to finish 14th with 43.58 points.
Among the newly promoted sides, Sunderland are projected to fare best, finishing 15th on 39.12 points. Crystal Palace are placed 16th on 36.85 points, while Nottingham Forest are projected to narrowly avoid relegation in 17th with 35.08 points.
The bottom three are predicted to be Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City. Coventry are projected to finish 18th on 35.05 points, just 0.03 points behind Forest, while Ipswich are forecast to take 19th with 34.29 points. Hull are projected to finish bottom on 27.82 points.
The forecast highlights a potentially dramatic battle at both ends of the table, particularly with only 0.03 points separating 17th and 18th.
However, supercomputer projections remain forecasts rather than guarantees. Injuries, transfers, managerial changes, fixture congestion and unexpected performances can significantly alter the Premier League landscape over a 38-game season.
For Arsenal, though, the numbers point to another title-winning campaign, while Manchester United’s projected return to the top four could provide one of the season’s biggest storylines.
