July 22, (THEWILL) – Nollywood actress, Praiz Sam, has tasked Nollywood filmmakers to desist from portraying Igbo men as ritualists.

Sam made this known on her Instagram account on Tuesday as she reacted to comments trailing Obi Cubana’s mother’s burial.

The actress urged filmmakers to “glorify the hardworking part of Igbo men,” adding that, the Igbo are the most hardworking men in Nigeria.

She wrote: “Dear Nollywood, A quick one, please can we glorify the hardworking part of IGBO MEN, in our movies rather than rituals all the time!!

“I mean, people are beginning to see it as a norm, and if you really want to look into it yeah, IGBO MEN IN NIGERIA ARE THE MOST HARDWORKING MEN!

“Let me take you back to the comments about (the #Oba celebration of life)The comment section was filled with a lot of Negativity, so an Igbo man cannot make clean money again?? I don’t understand it.

“I’ve stayed in the midst of them (all they talk about business, 80 percent, always very calculative) We (Nollywood) are MINISTERS TOO!! we preach through our movies and subconsciously get into the minds of people!

“So, I urge writers to please showcase more of “REAL, CLEAN, GROWTH STORIES“ not just for the IGBO MEN but especially for them, because we sort of gave them this look through our movies!!

“Just saying the Bitter truth these men work very hard and that part of them deserves CLARITY.”
