Senator Ama Nnachi Declared Winner As PDP Candidate For Ebonyi South

June 06, (THEWILL) – The serving senator representing Ebonyi South Senatorial district, distinguished Senator Dr Micheal Ama Nnachi, Ike Edda, has been declared the winner of the rescheduled People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senate Primary

Chairman of the five-man Electoral Panel from the National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP, Hon Okechukwu Mgbabor, who announced the result at Afikpo, amid jubilations said, Sen Ama Nnachi polled 127 votes to emerge the winner after defeating the other contestants, Hon Linus Okorie, who scored 24.

THEWILL gathered that the total votes cast was 152, valid votes 151, invalid vote 1; senator Dr Micheal Ama Nnachi 127 votes, while his close rival, Hon Linus Okorie, polled 24 votes.

He described the process as peaceful and transparent, adding that the primary was conducted in accordance with the Electoral Act and the guidelines of the PDP.

The electoral process commenced with the accreditation of delegates from the five Local Government Areas of Ebonyi South Senatorial District, before the voting exercise by the delegates.

In his remarks, the visibly happy Senator Nnachi appreciated members of the party’s electoral committee for ensuring a peaceful primary.

He thanked the delegates for their overwhelming support and solidarity.

He assured the people of Ebonyi South zone that he would continue to ensure that democratic dividends reach all the nooks and crannies of the zone if given the mandate for the second term.
