BEVERLY HILLS, March 05, (THEWILL) – The Senate has approved the $22.7 billion external loan request by President Muhammadu Buhari during an executive session presided over by senate president, Ahmed Lawan.
The approval followed consideration of the report of the Senator Clifford Ordia-led committee on local and foreign loans, which considered the 2016-2018 Federal Government External Borrowing (Rolling) Plan.

The $22.7 billion loan will fund some specific on-going projects across the country.
Lawan, who spoke to the press after the executive session, said the senate would ensure that the funds are used specifically for the execution of the projects listed against the loan request.
