Date:

November 28, (THEWILL) – The Lagos Division of the Court of Appeal has upheld the victory of Siminalayi Fubara in the March 18 gubernatorial election in Rivers State.

A three-member panel of Justices of the appellate court in a unanimous judgment on Tuesday, dismissed the appeal filed by Patrick Tonye-Cole, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), against Fubara and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The appellant had approached the appeal court to challenge the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which in October, affirmed the election of Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as duly elected governor of Rivers State.
