Rivers Crisis: Wike, Fubara Meet In Abuja, Shake Hands

October 31, (THEWILL) – Rivers State Governor, Siminalaye Fubara, on Tuesday, met his estranged godfather, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in Abuja.

It is the first time the Rivers State Governor and Wike are meeting face to face since the beginning of the reported spat between them.

Recall that the crisis between Fubara and Wike had on Tuesday, escalated after 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly signed an impeachment notice on the Governor.

THEWILL reports that Fubara and Wike, who approached each other and shook hands, are both attending the meeting of the Police Council in Abuja.

The meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, has several Governors including Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Dapo Abiodun (Ogun), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Abdullahi Abba (Kano) and Bassey Otu of Cross River, in attendance.
