December 14, (THEWILL) – The Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice in Rivers State, Professor Zacchaeus Adangor, has resigned from his position.
Prof. Adangor announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
The resignation comes on the heels of the feud between Governor Fubara and his political godfather, Nyesom Wike.
Adangor was one of the Rivers State cabinet members Fubara inherited from his predecessor and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Wike.
Dated November 14, 2023, the letter reads: ‘ I hereby give Your Excellency Notice of my resignation as the Honourable Attorney General and the Commissioner for Justice, Rivers State with effect from the date of this letter
“For the avoidance of doubt, my resignation from the said office is based purely on personal principles.”
He expressed gratitude to the Governor for recognising his suitability for the position.
