Ribadu Takes Over As National Security Adviser

June 26, (THEWILL) – Former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, has formally taken over from Maj-Gen Monguno, as Nigeria’s National Security Adviser (NSA).

THEWILL reports that President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, June 19, appointed Nuhu Ribadu, a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), as new NSA.

At a brief event in Abuja, on Monday, Ribadu promised to live up to the expectations of Nigerians. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for renewing the hope of a more secure nation.

Born November 21, 1960, in Adamawa State, Ribadu was the pioneer Chairman of the EFCC (2003 to 2007).

He studied law at the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, Kaduna State, from 1980 to 1983, receiving a Bachelor of Laws Degree. Following a year at the Nigerian Law School, he was called to the bar in 1984. He also earned a Master of Laws Degree from the same university.
