Ramadan: Kano Lawmaker Distributes 18,600 Bags Of Grains To Constituents

March 23, (THEWILL) – The House of Representatives member for Ajingi/Albasu/Gaya Federal Constituency in Kano State, Dr. Ghali Mustapha Panda, has flagged off the distribution of 18,600 bags of grains to his constituents.

Launching the distribution exercise in Kano, on Friday, Panda said the gesture was to cushion the effects of the current hardships on his constituents, especially during the ongoing Ramadan fast.

According to him, considering the current economic challenges in the country, he had no choice as a representative but to share some palliatives to his constituents.

He said he would distribute 3600 bags of 25kg rice, 3000 bags of 10kg rice, 6000 bags of 10kg maize flour and 6000 bags of 10kg millet to the beneficiaries.

The lawmaker further said that the gesture, including the disbursement of the sum of N20 million to 1000 youths in the constituency, is one of his plans for his constituents in the first quarter of 2024.

“We will continue to support our people. We will be doing this up to the end of this year. This one is for the first quarter of the year.

“In the second quarter, we will disburse farming inputs to thousands of farmers and in the third quarter, we will launch empowerment schemes for over 3000 youths and women.

“In the fourth quarter of the year, we will repair and build classrooms, schools and roads. We will do what we can with the budget available to us,” he said.

Earlier, Special Adviser to the Kano State Governor on Political Matters, Sunusi Surajo Kwankwaso, commended the lawmaker for the gesture.

Kwankwaso, who represented the State Government at the occasion, said the new set of lawmakers, especially those elected on the platform of the NNPP, are the best in the history of the state, as they make efforts to touch the lives of their constituents.

According to him, the lawmakers are following the footsteps of the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Political Movement, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, in making efforts to help the common man.

While hailing the lawmaker for the palliatives, Kwankwaso urged his colleagues to emulate him.

“To those who have not gotten these foodstuffs, I assure you that this is the tip of the iceberg as your turn is coming soon. You will be smiling because I believe you have a good representative,” the Special Adviser added.
