The Commissioner said the police, other law enforcement officials and the general public were all appreciative of the peaceful conduct of the protest and the “symbiotic manner” in which the event was conducted.

The NLC officials kick-started the protest march at the Kano Race Course, rallied through Lodge Road and terminated at the Government House, where they were received by the Head of Service, Alhaji Abdullahi Musa.

During the event, the Chairman of the state branch of the NLC, Alhaji Kabiru Inuwa, reiterated the union’s commitment to the people’s well-being.

He called on Governor Abba Yusuf to urge the President to address the suffering of the people.

Receiving the union leaders, the Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa, said: “We have received your letter and the Governor will hand it over to Mr President and something will be done to attend to your request.”

Musa commended the peaceful conduct of the protests and also lauded the security agencies for maintaining law and order through the exercise.
