Plateau Peace Agency Collaborates With Kaduna Counterpart

January 02, (THEWILL) – The Director-General of the Plateau State Peace Building Agency, Joseph Lengman, has said the agency is working in collaboration with its Kaduna State counterpart to achieve and foster cross-border peace between the two states.

The focus, he noted, is on the restoration of peace in restive communities in southern Kaduna that border Plateau communities experiencing similar issues.

He said the agency has since worked out and is implementing its roadmap to peace in Plateau state, which was launched by President Muhammadu Buhari. According to the DG, the agency looks forward to promoting tolerance and love as well as to entrench the imperatives of togetherness, inclusiveness and cross-cultural understanding.

To enlist mass participation and grassroots understanding and support, he added, the agency’s activities are complementary and continuous, with a media outreach that is multi-pronged to effectively diffuse its development messages.

Lengman was advised to appeal to his principal, Governor Simon Bako Lalong, to stop breaching the peace and stoking the fires of violence and break down of law and order by restoring constitutionality in Langtang North Local Government Area.

Since November 2, 2021, Governor Lalong has refused to respect a High Court declarative judgment that restored Hon. Joshua Laven Ubandoma of the Peoples Democratic Party as the mandatory and substantive Executive Chairman of Langtang North LGA till October 9, 2022.
