December 11, (THEWILL) – In the co-main event of UFC 282 in Las Vegas, there was controversy as Paddy Pimblett defeated Jared Gordon, who put him to the test in the octagon, to remain undefeated.
For his majority unanimous victory at T-Mobile Arena, Pimblett defeated Gordon with a score of 29–28 from all three judges, with two of them awarding him the first two rounds and the third giving him rounds one and three, which was thrashed by fans as being overly favourable to Pimblett.
From the beginning, Pimblett lumbered in with kicks and straight punches, but Gordon retaliated with a counter-left. Pimblett took notice when Gordon connected with a few more lefts and he attempted a low kick, but Gordon responded with another powerful strike, this time with his right.
Gordon kept firing back as Pimblett switched things up, scored a switch kick, and proceeded to advance with combinations. With less than a minute left, Pimblett attempted a takedown but was thrown back and fell to the ground.
In the final round, Gordon opened with a quick takedown and kept fighting while Pimblett played solid defence. Pimblett was able to escape, but Gordon forced him back up against the fence before scoring the takedown. Gordon tried to take Pimblett’s back, but Pimblett was able to get away and went straight for Gordon’s back before the bout ended.
