August 04, (THEWILL) – Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, described insinuations about the demise of the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as a rumour.
Referring to recently circulated photographs of him seated with the avowed controller of Lagos politics, Sanwo-Olu submitted: “Picture no dey lie!”
He said the APC National Leader was hale and hearty and did not require hospitalisation.
Sanwo-Olu made the revelation while speaking with Government House correspondents at Alausa, Ikeja, shortly after commissioning 102 waste trucks and 100 double dino bins.
THEWILL reports that the Special Adviser on Media to Tinubu, Tunde Rahman, had earlier confirmed that his principal is alive and without any medical problem.
Rahman had made this known through a statement following rumours that the former Lagos Governor has passed on.
The statement reads: “His Excellency Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is fine. He is hale and hearty. He is not in any hospital. He has no medical problem that would require hospitalization. Yes he is out of the country at the moment. He will be back shortly. Anytime he travels out of the country, the next thing some mischievous people would say is he is sick, hospitalized or has died.
“It is shameful that perpetrators of this evil are not deterred by the fact that each time this fake news has been propagated, they have been proven wrong. Who really is afraid of Asiwaju Tinubu? Those wishing Asiwaju Tinubu evil or dead should be careful. They should know the matter of life and death is in the hand of only God Almighty.”
Corroborating this position, Sanwo-Olu said: “On our leader that I went to see, there was a rumour peddling around. He is well, he is healthy. We conversed about what is happening in our party and nation.
“We should put our minds at rest; there is nothing to worry about. Can’t you see? Picture no dey lie!”
