September 26, (THEWILL) – Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has said that it is mischievous for anyone, including the Jemgbagh Development Association, Abuja chapter, to accuse him of having a hand in the current travails of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr Iyorchia Ayu.
The Jemgbagh Development Association, Abuja branch had in a statement over the weekend, narrowed the crisis over the position of the PDP national chairman to the clannish petty politics of Benue State
But Governor Ortom, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Nathaniel Ikyur, recalled how he worked tirelessly, alongside other prominent Benue citizens, to ensure that Ayu emerged as national chairman of the PDP.
He said that the crisis rocking the PDP was part of the beauty in the evolution of democracy.
Ortom urged those who claim to be leaders of Jemgbagh Development Association to be truly developmental in their drive to build cohesion among the people and attract real development to their area rather than engaging in mischief or blackmail.
