August 28, (THEWILL) — Gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey has thanked pastor and founder of Streams of Joy International, Jerry Eze, for surprising him with a new Range Rover on his 45th birthday.
Bassey celebrated his birthday on Thursday, August 27, and said he had planned to spend the day quietly giving thanks to God.
He later discovered that Eze had secretly worked with his wife to organise the surprise, which he jokingly described as a “holy coup.”
The singer said the gesture left him “speechless” and praised Eze for going the extra mile to get him the vehicle.
According to Bassey, his wife had initially suggested a different car, but Eze insisted on getting a better one.
He quoted Eze as saying, “My brother can’t drive that,” while insisting that they go for the best option.
Bassey shared the experience on Instagram on Friday, saying he normally keeps such moments private but decided to share the surprise with his followers.

He described Eze as a generous person and said he was aware of other surprises the pastor was planning for people.
“The man gives like his life depends on it,” Bassey said.
The gospel singer also publicly thanked Eze and prayed that the joy he had brought to him and his family would return to Eze and his family in greater measure.
He also asked his followers to join him in appreciating Eze for the gesture.
In a separate post, Bassey shared a video showing his reaction to the new car.
“This is how God through @realjerryeze made me feel yesterday – SPEECHLESS. Pastor Jerry, THANK YOU SIR. Still stunned,” he wrote.
Bassey’s 45th birthday has also attracted messages from fans and colleagues across the gospel music community. He marked the milestone with a message of gratitude to God.
The singer, trumpeter, songwriter and pastor is known for songs including “Wonderful Wonder,” “Imela,” “Olowogbogboro” and “Onise Iyanu.”
