September 15, (THEWILL) – Valentine Ozornwafor of Sochaux FC, has been called up by Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro, ahead of the international friendly against Nigeria and Algeria.
During the upcoming international break, the two former African champions, are scheduled to trade tackles in Oran on September 27, as THEWILL reported. The roster for the match has not yet been announced by Peseiro, although the ex-Sporting Lisbon manager’s decisions are likely to be influenced by the injuries to important players.
Semi Ajayi, a defender for West Bromwich Albion, has already been ruled out due to surgery, and Leganes captain Kenneth Omeruo, is uncertain to play. This has meant that Peseiro is considering other options to account for their absences.
Ozornwafor, a former centre back for Enyimba, has benefited from the situation as he has been invited by Peseiro for the Algeria friendly, according to a statement on Sochaux’s official website.
Currently on loan from RSC Charleroi to Sochaux, Ozornwafor has played three league games for the French Ligue 2 team. Ozornwafor, made his international debut under Gernot Rohr and has two caps for Nigeria in friendlies against Cameroon.
