May 24, (THEWILL) – Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has tasked the All Progressives Congress national delegates to the Party’s presidential convention this weekend, to be patriotic and cast their votes to uphold the unity and prosperity of the country.

Emphasising the message that a country divided against itself cannot stand, Osinbajo said he is in the presidential race because he has envisioned a post-Buhari Nigeria, which has to consolidate on security, job creation, agricultural production and industrial revolution towards a shock absorbent economy.

Received at the Government House by a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls and surging Christian groups chanting hymns and dancing, VP Osinbajo earlier paid a courtesy call on the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Highness, Jacob Gyang Buba, where he also spoke on national emergencies and imperatives as industrial climate, infrastructure and energy security.

Harping on skills and human capital development, Osinbajo noted that “investing in people is worthwhile”, promising that if elected as the president of Nigeria, his government “will increase opportunities for young people to acquire work experience to increase their chances of finding long term work.”

He also promised to “provide sustainable financing options to digital and creative sector skills and talent providers across the country”, as well as “establish one digital and creativity sector skills centre of excellence in each state of the country.”

Osinbajo, who was received at the Yakubu Gowon Airport, Heipang, by the state Deputy Governor, Sonni Gwanle Tyoden and the State APC Chairman, Rufus Bature and other Party officials, also paid a courtesy visit on Governor Simon Lalong at his Government House residence.
