Nnadozie Saves Day For Paris FC With Penalty Heroics Versus Arsenal

September 10, (THEWILL) – Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie gained revenge over two England players after the Super Falcons lost to the Lionesses in the World Cup last 16.

Nnadozie confirmed her penalty expert status by saving two in the determining shootout, as Paris FC knocked Women’s Super League giants, Arsenal, out of the UEFA Women’s Champions League qualifiers on Saturday.

The Super Falcons goalkeeper denied Alessia Russo and Frida Maanum in a dramatic shootout win for the French side in Brisbane, having already frustrated Russo and defensive teammate Lotte Wubben-Moy during 120 goal-filled minutes.

Paris FC led 2-0 after 57 minutes through Mathilde Bourdieu’s double before Russo, introduced on the hour-mark, kickstarted an Arsenal comeback with a 79th minute strike. Stoppage time saw Jen Beattie head an equaliser to make it 2-2 and take the tie into extra-time.

Louise Fleury’s 106th minute goal was immediately cancelled out by a superb long-range Russo equaliser, her second goal to restore parity at 3-3. However, with the scores still level after 120 minutes, Nnadozie emerged the hero in the shootout saving Arsenal’s third and fourth penalties to seal a famous victory for the underdogs.
