BEVERLY HILLS, February 04, (THEWILL) – The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has revealed that it supplied a total of 7.5 billion litres of premium motor spirit (PMS) from January to December 2015 to Nigerians.
This is according to a summary report for the year released Wednesday by the Corporation.

The report indicates that about 254bcf of gas were supplied to gas fired power stations across the country, which then converted it into 2,957mw of electricity within the period under review.

This could serve as a positive sign to the minister of power, works and housing, Babatunde Fashola, who recently expressed optimism that given the various plans undertaken by the present administration in the power sector, power generation would increase by 2000mw by the last quarter of 2016.

Fashola was speaking at the ministry’s budget defence before the Senate committee on power and mines, adding that a lot had changed in the management of power in the country in recent times.

On crude oil lifting, 245,666,116 barrels of crude oil were lifted by the NNPC on behalf of the Federal Government, out of a total of 706 million barrels focalized in 2015.

From these oil and gas transactions, a total of N1.096 trillion was paid to the Federation Accounts Allocation Committee, the NNPC report said.
