December 20, (THEWILL) – WBF international welterweight champion Rilliwan Babatunde, with a professional record of 14 wins, eight through technical knockouts and one loss, will defend his title against Ghanaian Justice Addy, with a record of 16-10-1 (14 KOs) on December 24 at the Molade Okoya-Thomas Indoor Sports Hall of the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos.
This will be the first defence for the 25-year-old “Babyface” Babatunde, who won the title last April at the same location. The bout, which will be televised by GoTV, is promoted by Flykite Boxing Promotions.
Two days after, on the 26th, two other undefeated boxers will battle for the vacant WBF International Super Middleweight title at the Ubungo Plaza in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, in a show presented by Peak Time Promotions.
Local puncher and incumbent Tanzanian national champion Selemani Kidunda, 7-0 (7), will fight Congolese Erick Tshimanga Katompa, 13-0 (5), in what appears to be his best opponent to yet.
Tshimanga Katomba is fighting in Tanzania for the second time, having defeated another local favourite, former WBF Intercontinental Champion Abdallah Paziwapazi, by unanimous decision in October.
