General Overseer of the Bibleway Crusaders Church International, Revd Paul Tunde Tioluwani, popularly known as Lesekese has called on Nigerians to pray for the successful conduct of next year’s general election.

Tioluwani, who made this known while speaking at this year’s edition of the annual carnival for the People with Disabilities, Orphans, Motherless and the less privileged, at the Care People Foundation Orphanage in Ibadan, said there is the need for prayers for the election to even hold because according to him, there are some powerful individuals who may want to truncate the smooth running of the election.

He said the reason as revealed to him by God is that those powerful individuals have seen that the candidate they are rooting for may not win the election, hence their plan to truncate the election.

“As a cleric, God told me to encourage Nigerians to pray so that there won’t be instability and for the election to hold as schedule

He also called on those who are aspiring to go into political offices at all levels in the coming election to always remember the poor and the vulnerable all the time.

Tioluwani who is also the Chairman of the Care Peoples Foundation said there is the need to care for the less privileged in society at this time of economic hardship.

“It is becoming increasingly difficult to be kind in Nigeria because a man cannot give what he does not have and considering the economy that seems to be going down the drain, people seem not to have enough. So anyone giving out things at this time must be doing it sacrificially.

“So I want to encourage the rich people in the country and the governments at the local, States and federal level to come to help the needy especially those with physical disabilities, Orphans, Motherless and other less privileged people in the society”.

He said his foundation has been trying its best by bringing smiles to the face of the less privileged people through provisions of wheelchairs, food items, Grinding machines, Sewing machines and provisions of scholarships to indigent students, saying however that “we can only do little and Government must intervene”.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the Carnival and former Vice Chancellor of Bell University, Professor Isaac Adeyemi called the government at both state and at the federal level to give special allocation to Orphanage and Homes for the People with Disabilities as a way of alleviating their sufferings.

He said he had listened to the debates and Town Hall meetings by major presidential candidates but has not heard any of them speaking on their programmes for the People with Disabilities, saying this must be corrected before the February 25 election.

“I have listened to debates and Town Hall meetings by the Presidential Candidates. They have been talking about education but none of them has broken it down to segments. I don’t think any of them have talked about caring for the Orphans and motherless in schools as well as the People with Physical Challenges. They are only talking about tertiary education. This must be corrected before the election”, Adeyemi said.

He commended the Care People Foundation for the annual carnival saying with the event they have brought succour and joy to the less privileged people in the society especially during the festive period.
