August 15, (THEWILL) – West African military chiefs will meet this week to review the political situation in Niger Republic.
According to AFP report, the meeting, earlier scheduled for last Saturday, would now hold on Thursday and Friday in Accra, Ghana.
The meeting followed Thursday’s resolution of ECOWAS leaders directing military intervention in Niger Republic.
THEWILL reports that the leaders, at an extraordinary summit held on Thursday, August 10, in Abuja, directed the military chiefs to be on standby for possible military intervention to restore democracy in Niger.
