January 18, (THEWILL) – The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has discovered tramadol in a parcel entrusted to a suspended Pathfinder staff member at Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

In a chat with the NDLEA Spokesman, Mr Femi Babafemi, a test revealed that the package, initially believed to contain dietary supplements, held both calcium carbonate and tramadol.

He said the suspect faces official transfer to the NDLEA for further scrutiny, with the quantity of tramadol to be disclosed after a thorough investigation.

The incident, marked by a viral video of a passenger slapping the Pathfinder staff, occurred on January 16, 2024, at gate 2 boarding gate at ITZ2.

FAAN’s Management probe indicated that the suspect had approached a passenger to transport the parcel, raising suspicions of drug trafficking, which eventually led to his arrest on Wednesday.
