Mohbad’s Father Warns Against Unauthorised Release Of Singer’s Corpse For Burial

November 20, (THEW) – Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as MohBad, has issued a public warning, emphasising that nobody should take possession of his son’s body for burial without his explicit authorisation.

In a video message posted on his TikTok page, Mohbad’s father sternly cautioned against anyone taking the late singer’s body for burial without his explicit authorization. He emphasised his enduring connection to his son, asserting that this authority extends even in death.

“When this boy was alive, he was alive. When he went, he still retained my name. Nobody should go there and take his body, please,” he warned.

The singer’s father added, “If they want to do anything there, I’ll be the one to authorise them. Nobody should go and carry MohBad’s body from there.”

His warning may not be unconnected to the demand for the release of the late singer’s corpse by his close friend, Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, aka Bella Shmurda, and controversial Nollywood actress turned politician, Tonto Dikeh.

Bella had made an appeal on his X account, asking the Nigerian Police to release the body of the late singer for a befitting burial.

The 27-year-old said it has been over two months and the result of the autopsy conducted on the deceased has not been released.

He wrote: “It’s been over 2 months Moh died and his body was taken in for autopsy but yet no result, which is fine but pls release his body that boy needs a befitting burial and to go to rest finally. Naija police what’s going on, we need an answer here, where is the result? Where is his body?”

Similarly, Tonto has expressed dissatisfaction with the Police Force’s slow investigation into the late musician.

She urged that his remains be released for burial.

In a post on her official Instagram page, she stated that justice must prevail in the death of the late crooner.

“Give us Mohbad for a befitting burial. We are tired of your carelessness and slowness. If no one speaks, I will. I have invested too much of my emotions, time, and love to see this Justice go through. As QM says, give the police more time. Honestly, we have given you all the more time than necessary. This is not the case to be swept under. We want Justice.”

Mohbad, who passed away in contentious circumstances on September 12, 2023, was laid to rest the following day.

However, about a week later, his body was exhumed for an autopsy due to public demand for a comprehensive investigation into the sudden demise. Following the autopsy, the police deposited his body in the morgue.
