November 6, (THEWILL) – Nigerian singer, Abdulazeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley and his aide, Samson Elutu, otherwise known as Sam Larry, have been granted bail after weeks in detention.
THEWILL reports that Naira Marley, Sam Larry and two others, had been arraigned and remanded in police custody since October 6, over their alleged involvement in circumstances surrounding the death of a musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.
However, ruling on a bail application on Monday, at the Yaba Magistrate in Yaba, Lagos, Presiding Magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, admitted Naira Marley and Sam Larry to a bail of N20m.
As part of the bail conditions, the court held that “the defendants are to surrender their passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department.
“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.”
