August 07, (THEWILL) – Official confirmation of Dries Mertens and Lucas Torreira’s summer transfers to Galatasaray has been made, and both players depart for Istanbul on Saturday night.
Dries Mertens will join the Turkish side until June 2023 with a one-year extension option, and Torreira, who joins for €6/7 million plus add-ons, signed until June 2025.
Galatasaray is having exciting times in the transfer market as it seeks to start the new season with an ambitious squad.
The 35-year-old Mertens will be allowed an extra year on his deal should Galatasaray finish high in the Turkish League enough to claim one of the UEFA Champions League tickets for the upcoming season.
