Man City, Others Informed Of Neymar Availability This Summer

July 1, (THEWILL) – Football agents have informed a set of big European teams about a possible summer transfer for Neymar, including English Premier League sides Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.

Even though Neymar only recently re-signed a long-term contract with Paris Saint-Germain, his immediate future is far from guaranteed. Nasser Al-Khelaifi, club president, recently declined to confirm that the superstar will remain in Paris through this summer, expressing concern that PSG’s “bling-bling” players would be released.

The idea of selling the forward this summer has divided the club hierarchy. PSG’s Qatari owners are unsure about allowing him to depart before the 2022 World Cup in the winter, but other decision makers at Parc de Princes are receptive to the deal. The little market with the capacity to support Neymar’s high salaries is already being researched by his agents. According to sources, intermediaries have approached both Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Milan regarding summer transfers.

Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, would probably be interested in the deal, as he wants to make a statement by the club’s signings this transfer window. Thiago Silva’s presence at the club could boost the Blues’ chances of signing Neymar. Recently, the 30-year-old veteran international teammate of Neymar’s pushed the PSG forward to move to Stamford Bridge.
