Lokonga Joins Palace On Loan For Rest Of 2022/2023 Season

February 01, (THEWILL) – Albert Sambi Lokonga, Arsenal’s 23-year-old midfielder, has been loaned to Crystal Palace for the rest of the 2022/2023 season.

The Belgium international has made 15 appearances for Arsenal this campaign, but only 2 of those have been English Premier League starts. Lokonga has not played in the EPL since coming on as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur on October 1.

Palace, managed by former Arsenal midfielder, Patrick Vieira, confirmed the news on Tuesday. It came shortly after Arsenal completed the signing of Jorginho from Chelsea to provide additional midfield coverage. Lokonga expressed his excitement about joining Palace and stated his goal to push himself and the team to reach the top.

Lokonga is in line to make his Palace debut this Saturday when they play away at Manchester United. Since joining Arsenal from Anderlecht in July 2021, he has played 39 times for the club.

Now, he will have the opportunity to get more playing time with Palace and make a significant impact on their season.
