The party executives accused the ousted chairman of being responsible for the party’s defeat in the state during the general elections among other 13 allegations leveled against him.

Thirty four out 39 members of the Exco reportedly approved the sack and appointment of Olorunoje, who occupied the position of State Vice Chairman (Central).

Briefing journalists on the development at the party secretariat in Ikeja, the party state secretary, Mr. Wahab Owokoniran, said the decision to sack the state party chairman was in protest of the way the party was run prior to the general election.

“We members of Exco have all agreed that the way the party is being run should not be allowed. You will all agree with me that this party is not well run before, during and after the elections. There is need for restructuring.

“If we want restructuring, there is no way the Chairman can continue in office,” he said.
