April 20, (THEWILL)- A chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Kano State, Malam Hisham Habib, says the entry of the national leader and presidential candidate of the party in the 2023 elections, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, has propelled the party into prominence more than ever before.
Habib, a former Kano State chairman of the party, said as a member and a witness of the party’s activities before and after Kwankwaso entered the party with his supporters, the statements credited to the party’s founder were without decorum and contentment.
He said the party was at its lowest rating and the leadership had not been able to resuscitate its weak structures, especially in the state, before the coming of Kwankwaso.

He argued that the founder of the party, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, and his loyalists should be grateful to God for having Kwankwaso in the party, which hitherto could not sponsor delegates to a convention, let alone win at the polls.
“Kwankwaso’s entry brought the NNPP the first major victory that was spectacular and unimaginable. We won the governorship of Kano State with the highest number of votes in the country.
“Our Governor scored more than a million votes, which no other governor scored and that was a milestone and a feat. Moreover, the party’s presence at the national assembly is unprecedented,” he said
The NNPP chieftain urged the Board of Trustee Chairman to “ignore the evil machinations of saboteurs who are scared of the successes recorded by the party and the prospects it has in the near future.”
According to him, Kwankwaso has been consistent in his dealings with people who supported him, which earned him respect nationally and globally.
Habib said Nigerians from all walks of life trooped into the party because majority of the party’s members nationwide saw Kwankwaso as a leader due to his impressive pedigree.
