Kenneth Okonkwo Speaks On Actors Supporting Tinubu For President

October 08, (THEWILL) – Actor Kenneth Okonkwo has said that his colleagues, who have thrown their weights behind the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, are mere actors who get paid for their appearances.

The ‘Living in Bondage’ star said this in a recent interview on Channels Television.

When told that some of his colleagues were drumming support for the former governor of Lagos State, Kenneth Okonkwo said, “I’m not aware.

“Many of them are politicians, so they are entitled to visit anybody and collect their appearance fee. I am here talking as a politician, not as a Nollywood practitioner.

“An actor is entitled to his appearance fee and if you call him as an actor, you ought to pay him. If I was invited as an actor, if I am not a politician, I would tell you what you would pay as an appearance fee. And so let us forget them. When they say they are politicians, you see them here and you ask them questions.”

On July 11, the 53-year-old announced he resigned his membership in APC, over the decision of the ruling party to field a Muslim-Muslim presidential candidate for the 2023 elections. One month later, the actor joined the Labour
