November 25, (THEWILL) – Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has advised upcoming artists to embrace originality in their music career.
Davido shared his journey on moving from the United States to Nigeria to pioneer a unique musical style, widely recognised as Afrobeats today which he developed, and not only set him apart, but also led to his return to the United States as a superstar.
He encouraged emerging artists to consistently strive for creative distinction.
In a video shared on his X handle on Friday, Davido emphasised, “If I could give advice to aspiring musicians, just be original.
“I used to live in America. I could have stayed and just done what everybody else was doing but my calling was to go back home and represent the culture and eventually, it still brought me back out here. But everybody else has their own path. The most important thing is to be original.”
