June 24, (THEWILL) – Tom Keane, the brother of Wigan forward Will and Everton defender, Michael, is anticipated to succeed departing Negotiations Director, Matt Judge at Manchester United.
The Old Trafford management has undergone a number of high-profile changes recently, with Judge’s resignation being the most recent. As THEWILL reported, Richard Arnold, who was promoted from his previous position as group managing director, has already taken over from Ed Woodward.
Elsewhere, senior scouting heads, Jim Lawlor and Marcel Bout, have also recently left the club. John Murtough and Darren Fletcher, the Technical Director and Football Director, have only been in their positions for a little over a year. Judge, who joined United in 2012 and has been in charge of contract and transfer talks since 2014, did not think he would be included in the team’s new long-term plans.
Keane will now take over some of the tasks that were part of Judge’s job description. This will involve playing a “significant” part in the club’s transfer negotiations during Erik ten Hag’s first summer as manager, which is now anticipated to be a busy time for the team.
Keane works as a solicitor at the law office Brandsmiths. However, he has vast experience in the football industry and is a trusted advisor and representative for household name players, managers, and pundits.
