SAN FRANCISCO, December 02, (THEWILL) –Â Milestones are just around the corner for Cristiano Ronaldo with almost every game and, on Wednesday, he scored his 750th career goal as Juventus cruised past Dynamo Kyiv 3-0 in the UEFA Champions League.
Juve started with more intent and in the early stages, central midfielder Weston McKennie and forward Alvaro Morata were denied by Dynamo keeper Georgi Bushchan. However, centre forward Federico Chiesa got the better of Bushchan after 21 minutes to register his first ever Champions League goal.
Soon after, Ronaldo thundered a 12-yard shot against the crossbar after more impressive work from left back Alex Sandro. Wojciech Szczesny in the Juve goal was alert to thwart right winger Viktor Tsygankov at the other end before half-time.
A long-range effort from Ronaldo was pushed over by Bushchan after the break. But, the Portugal international was not to be denied at the third time of asking. Shortly before the hour mark, he tapped in from two yards after Chiesa’s cross had caused panic inside the Dynamo penalty area.
After providing the assist for that goal, Morata then scored for the sixth time in this season’s competition after 66 minutes. Picked out by the impressive Chiesa, the on-loan Atletico Madrid striker coolly slotted home from 10 yards.
After that, Andrea Pirlo’s men were more than happy to play out the game at a pedestrian pace. The victory sealed Juve’s fifth win in six meetings against Dynamo with consummate ease.
The Turin derby awaits Juve on Saturday with Torino visiting the Allianz Stadium, while Dynamo are in domestic action against Mariupol on the same day.
