September 24, (THEWILL) – Daniel Dubois, fresh off his IBF world heavyweight title defence against Anthony Joshua, is open to rematches with both Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk. The deciding factor for Dubois will be the financial offer.
Dubois defeated Joshua at Wembley on Saturday, with a fifth-round knockout. He floored Joshua four times during the bout. While there is no rematch clause in place, Dubois’s promoter Frank Warren stated a second fight could happen if terms are agreed upon.
Regarding potential opponents, Dubois told talkSPORT radio on Tuesday, “I would love a rematch, but either one really – whoever pays me the most.” He added that if a rematch with Joshua were to occur next, he would “want to go for it” and aim to improve on his performance.
Usyk, who defeated Dubois in August 2023, is scheduled to face Tyson Fury on December 21 for the WBA, WBO and WBC belts. Dubois believes he sent Usyk to the canvas in their previous fight, though the punch was ruled a low blow.
Joshua has indicated his boxing career is not over, with potential rematches against Dubois or Fury on the horizon. Dubois, meanwhile, is focused on proving doubters wrong and believes he can be “more clinical, more sharp, everything better” in future bouts.
