James Rodriguez Move To Al-Rayyan Confirmed

September 22, (THEWILL) – James Rodriguez has completed a move from English Premier League side Everton to Qatari side Al Rayyan for an undisclosed fee.

The 30-year-old leaves Goodison Park 12 months after joining the Toffees from a loan spell at the Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, which never really sparked to life.

Having signed from Real Madrid, Rodriguez scored six goals and nine assists in 26 appearances in all competitions for Everton last season, but has not played for Rafael Benitez’s side during the current campaign.

Rodriguez was rumoured to be in line for a return to Real Madrid after Carlo Ancelotti, who brought him to England, resumed once again at Madrid to take replace Zinedine Zidane.

The talented Rodriguez, who shot to fame with his exploits for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup where he won the Golden Boot, has also played for Porto and Monaco. His last game for the EPL club came in a 1-0 defeat by Sheffield United on 16 May.
