SAN FRANCISCO, September 22, (THEWILL) – The Italian police say it is investigating claims that Barcelona outcast, Luis Suarez, cheated in his Italian exam to get a passport for his unsuccessful move to Juventus.
Suarez was scheduled to join Cristiano Ronaldo in Juventus but first had to pass a language test.
The Uruguayan striker is eligible to apply for an Italian passport because his wife, Sofia Balbi, has Italian ancestors. However, according to the rules, Suarez must pass his language test.
According to new reporting, the striker passed the test but Juventus did not go through with the deal. The club’s Director, Fabio Paratici, said there was no time for the club to sort the striker’s passport and register him into the team.
However, reports in Italy say the striker cheated and “knew the test questions” ahead of time.
The Perugia Prosecutor’s Office On Tuesday issued a statement concerning the investigation.
It read: “During the investigations, some irregularities have emerged in the exam of Certification of Italian, sat on September 17 by Uruguayan football player Luis Alberto Suarez Diaz, needed to obtain the Italian citizenship.

“From the investigation, it emerged the topics in the exam had been agreed in advance with the applicant.”
