I’m Going To Be Governor For Everyone – Professor Onor

October 25, (THEWILL) – The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial flag bearer in Cross River State, Professor Onor, says he will be a governor for everyone.

Professor Onor disclosed this in Calabar, during a town hall meeting hosted by the Progressive Southern Alliance.

He told the alliance to look for a governor who cuts across all ethnic groups in the state and not those who push ethnic concussions as their personal interest.

“A lot of these people want a governor they can control, blackmail but I’m going to be a governor for everyone.

“I will be your governor through thick and thin, devising ways and means of ensuring that young people are carried along from the south, Central and North”, he said.

He decried the parlous state of Cross River, and the attitude of some elites and maintained that the future does not lie in the APC.

“Your future is being compromised, yet the elites in the state are keeping quiet because they want to be politically correct.

“Cross River State is broken, mangled, distorted, destroyed and devalued.

“If people are telling you in this state that you will have a greater future with APC than PDP then you are living on Mars, not on Earth.

“Look for a Cross River governor that cuts across all ethnic groups, that has a track record of accommodation of all ethnicities and is also interested in the commonalities that bind us rather than things that divide us.

“I don’t believe in ethnicity but merit, if you want to challenge me, do so on the basis of competence.

“This is why I hate it when people speak to me on the basis of ethnicity, speak to me on quality and competence and through my dint of experience and hard work no candidate is better than me.

“Inside these ethnic concussions are their own personal interests and you are not able to distinguish them.

“They are talking about going back to the South, but we talk about going back to you.

“The people making these arguments support certain candidates and themselves but not about you”, Senator Onor said.

He advised them to look for models, mentors and people who inspire them and pray to be better than them.

He also told them that as the 2023 elections approach, they should research before they begin to speak, most of what these people are giving to them is “garbage in, garbage out, they are misleading you.”

He said they should be wewaryary of the APC and its promises because tickets were donated by a common authority.

“When they donate that ticket to you then there must be compromises, if not politically morally, if not morally spiritually.

“So you want to continue to suffer? The way to be is the PDP”, he said.

On her part, Lady Emana Ambrose Amahwe Duke, the deputy governorship flag bearer said what should be done now is to sit down, examine the issues and ask questions on how to make things work.

“We will not sustain the dividends of democracy under a pile of refuse, imagine if it looks that bad outwardly, what is the state of our state behind the scenes?

“A cross River State where things work is what we are all after”, she said.

On his part, the coordinator of the PSA Asuquo Solomon said the essence of the town hall meeting is to sit down and iron out issues.

He added that the meeting will give birth to a better and stronger southern Senatorial district in the interest of the party.
